For the love of the mountains

I'm back!
First day in Zakopane was rainy, but we even managed to stroll around Wielka Krokiew,

****

Jestem, i to w jednym kawałku!

... and delicious food in one's of Zakopane's restaurant

****

...i pysznego obiadku w jednej z zakopiańskich restauracji,

The were also some knitting time at evenings;
me on right and my current project.

****

We couldn't miss climbing mountains.
Since we had a toddler with us we managed to hit two small mountains but it's always something, isn't it?

****

... but one day my sis took older boys to Kasprowy (1987 meters).
Next day all of us went on a tour to Mroźna Cave.
See happy Adrian on below's photo?

****

Some meters and stones higher he wasn't all smiles,
because he still has legs ached after climbing to Kasprowy

****

Yes, the love for mountains can be pain full but we also relaxed in Aqua Park and spend really great time!

****

Backpacs are packed

We're heading to... amazing Slovakia with a stop in even amazing Zakopane.

*****

Wybywamy do... przepięknej Słowacji, z przystankiem w równie pięknym Zakopanem.

Kids are so excietd because we will take the train for the first time. This way we will avoid 1.5 hour car line in entrance to Zakopane.

*****

Zakopca.

White Easter / Biała Wielkanoc

Needless to say that we have so much snow around here this Easter. So had to take a picture of our basket in snow around.
Funny that I can't remember any snow at Easter since childhood. This year is different. We miss real spring so much.

Musiałam zrobić zdjęcia Juleczki z wielkanocnym koszyczkiem w śniegu dookoła, bo to niecodzienny widok.
Zabawne, ale jakoś sobie nie przypominam, by było tyle śniegu w Wielkanoc, no ale w tym roku jest inaczej. Zabawniej rzekłabym ;).

Good thing that there was a sunshine in the morning when I and Julia went to Church with our Easter basket.

From two days Julia is our only child right now, the older siblings are with their cousin at grandma and grandpa. Hope they are polite and don't make to much noise there ;)

Słońce przypomniało o sobie wczesnym rankiem, kiedy ja i Jula poszłyśmy poświęcić koszyczek.

Happy Easter time to all of my readers!

Wesołych Świąt Wielkiej Nocy dla wszystkich moich czytelników!

Merry Christmas

Wish you all Merry and Happy Christmas! It could be much healthy for us since Julia got cold yesterday but the Christmas menu has been finalised. Nothing too fancy and lots of old favourites.

Życzę Wam Radosnych i Zdrowych Świąt Bożego Narodzenia!

Happy New 2012 Year!!!

Wishing you a very productive 2012 Year! I do really hope to keep going my plan for 2012 of writting much more patterns and knit/crochet a lot. I have so big plans and must be much more organized with time frames to make it happen this year.
I'm so excited you like my Christmas patterns and am so grateful to all my customers. You gave me the wings for designing much more!!!

...and just must share with you my mom's Christmas Tree which was inspiration for Christmas Tree Ornament pattern. It's so bright and colorful and my mom still buys beautiful big and small balls, ornaments and lightings every year. That's no wonder children adore it!

To have a better view...No2

Report from our vacation continues (even after a long time :))...Warning lots of pics coming!

Visit Zakopane without visiting Gubałówka is impossible, especially if you have kids. There's a place where mountain lovers can enjoy amazing view at Tatra Mountains in front of. If it's only sunny enough you can see some mountains at Slovakian side as well. We got there by beautiful trolley but went down on our own legs. Nice preparation before some walk we expected next day. LOL.

There are many such good restaurants at Zakopane, below is one of them, where I caught up kids eating pizza. Adults (us) preffered there traditional Kwaśnica. In background there was concert played by traditional artists. Trust me that was SO AWESOME to eat and hear real music!

We couldn't decide where to go next day. We already knew that most popular places like Morskie Oko, Giewont and rope trolley at Kasprowy Wierch were so crowded (the queue to Kasprowy Wierch trolley could take us about 6 hours), so decided finnally to hit two mountains: Nosal and Wielki Kopieniec. Our journey started early morning at bus station from where we got to Kużnice. That was the last place where we had any connection with civilazation. LOL
At the entrance to trail we saw nice sign which had informed every tourists that they are just crossing Tatrzańsi Park Narodowy and nice picture of brown bear below!
Well, we've ignored that info but were SO WRONG!

Walking at Nosal is quite short but very steep. At the top of that beautiful mountain there's amazing view at Kasprowy, Giewont, Kużnice, Czerwone Wierchy and even at that trolley. If you clik at photos with Adrian below you can see it riding to Kasprowy!

Belive me or not but I do got acrophobia and agoraphobia and I was so frightened (well my sis too but we supported each other) and when I saw 3 yrs olds climbing this steep top without getting almost nothing help from their parents I finnally got some courage.

Climbing down from Nosal was quite a pleasure until me and Joanna heard something like roar at Nosal creek! And we heard that roar below us at percipice! She suddenly asked me if that was a bear but I answered it probably was cow and realized immediately that no cow could climb at 1000 meters! We asked other members of our expedition and two of them did hear that loud roar too! Then we decided to go faster not to meet this loudy bear face to face!

As we were almost running not meet bear after meeting with woodcutters (I blame them for annoying bear) soon we reached Olczyska Valley.
That was the place where beautiful butterflies had their festival! There were so many of them and didn't flew away from us! One of them (pic below) I almost touched with my camera's lens! LOL.
We had one of ours "pit stops" at amazing gill - water there was clear as a glass and very cold!

Then the most "fun" part of our expedition started! The track to Wielki Kopieniec is so steepy, leads mainly by the stones and is very tiring! We had to take a few "pit stops" there.

After long way and climbing we've reached Kopieniec Glade and were concerned about climbing last meters with steepy zig zag party (pic below) or get around the side.
We've chosen first-most difficult version and don't know whether I was right - just remember my acrophobia and agoraphobia! But Joanna did felt like chamois and was jumping from stone to stone and WAS NOT AFRAID THAT HEIGHT! Belive or not but there were many younger kids then my 6 year old and didn't seem to be afraid and so were their parents too!

Oh, but we were so awarded with an amazing closer view at highest Tatra Peaks! LOVE LOVE LOVE that view from top and finnaly defeated my acrophobia and agoraphobia a bit and infected children with my passion to mountain trekking! Hoping to get to Kasprowy Wierch and Czerwone Wiechy next time. Kids already asking me and hubby when will we get there! LOL
Probably I'll never get the most difficult tracks at Tatra Mountains. To make you realize how difficult mountaineering can be just watch that movie. Nice walking at the most difficult Tatra Mountain - Orla Perć, isn't it? Of course if you have a lot of courage and great condition :) BTW Orla is seen from below pics :)

To get to Zakopane...No1

...and see majestatic Giewont at first...

That's quite long since my last post. Don't how it happens but my life seems to be to busy this summer. I'll try my best to post much often about my creations, but now I'd like to show you some beautiful place in Poland - Zakopane with awesome Tatra Mountains. Don't ask me why but can help myself with LOVE to high mountains.
This summer I decided to take Joanna and Adrian to Zakopane. My Mom, my sister and her son joined us too. These days this little town was so crowded and like dear lady in tourist information said hited the record of 13000 tourists per day. WOW! The old wooden house we stayed in was a world in a pill, there were people from Japan, France, Spain, England, Germany, but no one from Poland except us and reception employees, funny thing :)
In middle pics you can see beautiful Zakopane architecture with famous Krupówki street.

Ps. Pics from this post are from my sis camera. I didn't took my big camera cause we had only left our roommate for dinner. Oh, how silly I was to think we won't get a walk across Zakopane! Not to mention that my sis did had a big trouble with those ugly date fonts... Anyway we should know after about 20 YRS when exactly we've been there :) LOL

Te przepiękne Tatrzańskie widoki, to świeże powietrze, to Zakopane, ach, ach!

Fancy bows christmas dress

Well, not quite on time for Christmas but decided it will be the 1-st design I'll show in 2011 :) Just had a little kids illness troubles during Christmas time and my knitting/crochet was the most "suffering" part of a day.
This knitted bottom up dress was made in one piece with only armholes sewing.
It has some kind of corrugations both in top and down part of front, sparkle yarn bows and just LOVE that color combination of christmas red, grey and white!
I'm planning to release pattern for this dress on 2011 Christmas.

Please be patient for some exciting news I'm planning to do for the first time late this week!
Stay tuned!
