Blanket

I still can't believe I've made such huge thing, in only one color and crocheted in back loops only for "nice" structure. 

It's made from cone of cotton yarn which my parents gave me a while ago. I used 4.mm hook and this huge specimen took me almost a year. 

It's destiny is to be a couch cover but on the photo above you can see that my living room couch has two parts. So the second part stills needs a cover and... 

...yes I have to crochet one more blanket. 

From the other front: my older kiddos finished their school year. Joanna graduated to second class and Adrian to first of High School obtaining high score at 6'th grade exam. They both did great job at this school year. Now it's time for some rest for all of us - the last days of school were to busy, I think.

Hello, I'm little Joanna

Let me share with you my story: my mummy is Joanna and as she has an older brother she grew up with continuous cars, soldiers, dinosaurs and etc. sounds. She was always surrounded by all boys-alike things eventhough she played her Ponys, Littles Pet Shops, girly blocks, she always refused ANY dolls. Her mummy insisted sometimes to buy this or that kind of doll but... no way, she always said she doesn't like dolls! I'll tell you more when family or friends gave her a dollie it was always an unwanted present. 

Pozwólcie, że podzielę się z Wami moją krótką historią: moją mamusią jest Asia i jako młodsza siostra swojego jedynego brata zawsze była otaczana różnymi rodzajami typowo chłopięcych aktywności - począwszy od samochodów, a na dinozaurach skończywszy. To musiało na niej zostawić piętno. I zostawiło w postaci braku zainteresowania lalami. Darowane przez rodzinę czy znajomych lale zawsze były nietrafionym prezentem.
 

Well, things changed a lill' bit when Julia was born. She loves dollies and initially I was designated to be sewn up for her. Her mother wanted to buy a special dollie, which both could be cute and cozy. Shops offer only plastic dolls, well maybe only with soft belly or hands and legs but face is still plastic. Julia's mom was disappointed with stores dollies offer and... decided to sew a dollie in waldorf style. They are made from all natural materials and the most important thing is that their face are not plastic! I think that she grabbed the hoe to the moon but let me find anyone in this world who could discourage her from that crazy idea! 

Sytuacja nieco uległa zmianie, kiedy Julisia się urodziła. Ta mała panna całym sercem kocha lale! Początkowo zatem miałam powstać właśnie dla niej jako laleczka nie tylko do patrzenia, ale przede wszystkim do przytulania, a sklepy jak to sklepy, w swojej ofercie mają lale "made from plastic", jeśli nie w przeważającej części, to przynajmniej główki są z plastiku. Mama Juleczki była mocno rozczarowana slepową ofertą i wpadła na szalony pomysł, by uszyć lalę w Waldorfskim stylu. Wiem, porwała się z motyką na księżyc, ale któżby mógł ją odwieść od tego zwariowanego celu?
 

So, she started creating Me and when body and head parts were stuffed Joanna saw Me and........... fell in LOVE!!! WITH ME!!! Joanna's mom couldn't belive what she heard and told that this doll attend to be for her sister, who loves dolls but Joanna doesn't, but... she said she already can imagine how beautiful this little lady (Me!) can become and that she wants this one doll, only her SO BADLY! Then which mom could refuse such request of her daughter? 
Designing direction of myself has changed: I was given Joanna's eyes and hair and much more of her personality - a lil' bit shy but very smart and funny! My clothes are also quite well represent Joanna's style. So this is the way I was born, maybe I'm not to beautiful but very happy, must tell you more Joanna loves to play with me, she often change my clothes and gives me a big hug from time to time and I feel so special beacuse I'm the only ONE doll in the world which she loves! 

Ps. Julia's doll is in making process, I'll have a sister :) Yey!

Ps. No 2. I'll definitely support polish team today! I'm a big football fan, just as big Joanna :D  
 

Zaczęła się zatem faza tworzenia mojej skromnej osóbki i kiedy tylko ciało i główka zostały wypchane Asia mnie dostrzegła i........ ZAKOCHAŁA SIĘ!!! WE MNIE!!! Mama Asi nie mogła w to uwierzyć i sprostowała, że lala jest szyta dla jej młodszej siostrzyczki,która kocha lale, ale sprawy zaszły za daleko - Asia odrzekła, że ma już wizję, jak śliczna będzie to lala (Ja!) i że bardzo, ale to bardzo mnie pragnie! Cóż, która mama mogłaby odmówić takiej prośbie swojej córci? Tak więc proces tworzenia Mnie musiał się zmienić: dostałam Asi kolor oczu i włosów, ale chyba najbardziej zostałam obdarowana jej osobowością - troszkę jestem nieśmiała, ale też bystra i zabawna :) Moje ubranka także całkiem nieżle oddają styl ubioru Asi. 
To właśnie w ten sposób powstałam, może i nie zachwycam urodą, ale jestem bardzo szczęśliwą lalą, bo Asia rzeczywiście lubi poświęcać mi swój czas i czasem poprzytulać się ze mną. Najbardziej jednak cieszy mnie fakt, że to właśnie ja jestem tą JEDNĄ, JEDYNĄ lalą na świecie, którą pokochała Asia! 

Ps. Julii lala jest w trakcie powstawania, będę mieć siostrzyczkę :) Yey! 

Ps. No 2. Dzisiaj ja też będę kibicować Polakom,  też jestem ogromną fanką futbolu, jak Asia :D

Euro 2012 steals my time!

Today without photos because of yesterday game Poland-Russia. Every time I watch Polish team in action I DO NOT make ANY craft! Even if I'm always prepared and have something to knit/crochet around me I just can't take it. I'm only watching the game with high-dose of emotions just as other members of my family.
We were quite loudy when Błaszczykowski scored beautiful goal to Russian gate and even if the game ended with 1:1 score we are satisfied how our players went through this game.
The only problem was today morning when kids had to get up at 7 o'clock to school :)


Dzisiaj bezzdjęciowo, bowiem nie mogę nic wykonywać podczas meczów Polskiej Reprezentacji. To dla mnie zbyt emocjonujące i nawet, kiedy jestem przygotowana do twórczego wykorzystania czasu przed telewizorem, to niestety nie mogę, i już. A kiedy padają tak piękne gole jak Błaszczykowskiego to wiadomo, że na stojąco nic się prawie nie da zrobić! 
Największy jednak problem był dziś rano, kiedy dzieci trzeba było dobudzić na 8-mą do szkoły :)

Sneak peek in pinky cream

I needed something to wear during summer. I will tell you more: I had clear idea how this cloth would look including every single detail and am quite sure I'd never ever find in stores this what I imagined. My experience about shopping is the same: never expect to find a cloth you've got a vision in your mind. So decided to produce "my vision of something for summer" and this time I'm making design for adults. Yey!  

Na czas euro 2012 będę troszkę pisać po polsku - ot, taki przejaw patriotyzmu. To, co widoczne na zdjęciu to coś, co zrodziło się w mojej głowie z myślą o lecie. Nawet nie pofatygowałam się do szturmu na sklepy w poszukiwaniu "mojej wizji letniego ciuszka", ponieważ moje doświadczenie w poszukiwaniach tego, co sobie wymarzyłam zawsze kończy się fiskiem, zatem zamiast tracić czas na wielokilometrowy spacer od sklepu do sklepu, postanowiłam sama sobie wyprodukować wymyślone od A do Z cudo. No dobrze, czy to będzie cudo, to się jeszcze okaże, ale napewno będzie to mój pierwszy projekt dla dorosłych. 
 

It grew up mostly during Italy-Spain game which I was watching with undisguised pleasure - such a bundle of class! 

 Ów ciuszek podrósł głownie podczas wczorajszego meczu Włochy-Hiszpania, który oglądałam z nieskrywaną przyjemnością - co za klasa!

Do boju Polsko! Kibice liczą na gole :)

Ja nie żartuję, ci mali fani oczekują wygranej naszej reprezentacji, więc skoro zaopatrzeni jesteśmy całą rodzinką w piękne malowidła narodowe, jak również w prowiant na czas meczu, to liczymy na fajne widowisko. Mam nadzieję, że nasi piłkarze spisza się na szóstkę. Euro 2012 czas zacząć!
 

Zawsze byłam wielką fanką piłki nożnej, nie wiem nawet czy nie większą od mojego męża! Tak czy owak jemu atmosfera Euro 2012 się udziela, dzieciom naszym, jak widać na załączonych obrazkach również. Oj, małż krzyczy z drugiego pokoju, że już otwarcie, więc będę powoli kończyć. 



Kibicuję oczywiście najgoręcej Polsce, ale... ale, jako fanka piłki nożnej z przyjemnością będę kibicować i innym wspaniałym drużynom! 

Update: Oh! Oh! Oh! Co za widowisko było, ależ to było emocjonujące! Moglibyśmy oczywiście wygrać, ale remis też jest OK.

Vitamin N(avy)

Here's my version of Vitamin D and also revealing for second time myself. It didn't intend to hide myslef from web sphere, just didn't have "right" subjects for showing on myself, not to mention that particulary I was on the other side of camera. This time my Piotrek took over my job.

Let me go back to my Vitamin N, I truly love this cardi and there are few reasons for my love:
1. it's warm enough to wear for a lil' bit cold weather such as is around here in Poland

2. it's so feminine and highlights all natural body shapes

3. it's both practical and fashionable

4. it has my favourite dots

5. it's very comfortable and is light-weight.

I've knitted it from a thin wool my parenths bought for me some time ago when doing their company shopping. I used three strands of for this project and final cardi is still light, so you can imagine how thin the single strand is.

Navy is one of my favourite colors and I see the future of this cardi in very intensive use as this color matches probably most of my wardrbe. Pattern: Vitamin D. I also used 3.5mm and 2.75mm Addi circulars and dpn's for this project and approximately 1100m of yarn just as Heidi Kirrmaier suggested in her pattern.

We took Julia fo this photo-shooting and she was playing quietly in sand around us but decided to appear in this post too, so here she is - my baby Julia cosing with my Vitamin N :)

Market Bag

Today something made in "meantime" but oh so useful! It's so HUUUGE! Didn't thought it would be that big while knitting. 

I'm only thinking that must knit another two to prevent this one from rupture (I'm affraid Piotrek can put A LOT to much in it, that's all). 

This bag was made using two strands of Virginia, I found this yarn perfect for this project - it's twine and rough. Easy to follow pattern from here.
